Castle Stuart is a recently designed, scenic but challenging links golf course right on the edge of the sea near Inverness.
Castle Stuart golf course is located north east of Inverness only 2 miles from Inverness Airport and seven miles from Inverness Railway Station. It is only a few miles from Nairn Golf course. This is an interesting course to play and the new resort developments planned sound really interesting. It has being designed by the same group as developed the top class course Kingsbarns, in Fife, Mark Parsinen and Gil Hanse.
Castle Stuart itself is on the course and is right next to some of the holes.
Other holes have greens right on the water's edge and some have views across to the Kessock Bridge and Chanonry Lighthouse. All in all it is a very scenic course but is also one of Scotland's top courses and has been used as a championship venue.
A new golf resort is being developed around the course so in the near future we can expect to see a luxurious and innovative "Dormy House" hotel (due 2014) and spa and also a second golf course.
