Tonglands Family Golf Centre in Kircudbright near Dumfries in the Dumfries and Galloway region of the South West of Scotland has a 9 hole parkland golf course that is suitable for family play. The longest hole is 200 yards and the shortest hole 90 yards. There is also an excellent driving range and short game practice area

The centre's 9-hole, par 3 course offers stunning scenery and its layout means you can play 18-holes by using separate tees for the front nine and back nine on each hole. Play can be challenging even for an experienced player !

Kircudbright, Castle Douglas and Gatehouse of Fleet are all fairly close by and there are hotels in all of these or self catering accomodation. Further afield you will find Dumfries in one direction and in the other direction there are Portpatrick, Stranraer and Wigtown.

Kirkudbright has been traditionally a fishing village and has a small harbour. It has also become known as an "artists' town" and many craftspeople and artists have been attracted to the town, so you can visit their galleries. The houses are attractive and some are pastel coloured so it is an interesting place to visit.

The Cream O'Galloway Ice Cream Visitor Centre at Gatehouse of Fleet near Castle Douglas is great to visit, particularly for children (or anyone who loves ice cream !). As well as a café, there are slides, pedal karts, bikes, a woodland adventure playground, indoor play areas, nature trails and even a dog walk where your dogs can run free.
