- Newton Stewart's Parkland course was founded in 1896.
- Southerness is a championship Links course in a fantastic setting overlooking the Solway Firth. The hills of the Lake District are visible from the course.
- The luxurious Cally Palace Hotel just outside Gatehouse of Fleet has its own golf course - and offers golfing breaks, including Women's Golf Breaks !
- Portpatrick Dunskey course is well worth a visit and has fantastic views across to Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man on a clear day. There is also a nine hole family course, the DInvin.
